Core Values Affirmed by Mercy Educators

Following a collaborative dialogue begun in 1989, at MSEA Conference IX, 1990, Mercy educators affirmed "values that educators in the Mercy tradition held in common."  Mercy educators reaffirmed: 

• ·         compassion and service,

• ·         educational excellence,

• ·         concern for women and women's issues,

• ·         world* vision and responsibility, (the word Global began to be used in the mid 1990's)

• ·         spiritual growth and development,

• ·         collaboration.

These values are fundamental in each school, faithful to the Gospel and the charism of Catherine McAuley
