The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas NyPPaW Community formed January 1, 2008. The former Regional Communities of Buffalo, Erie, Pittsburgh, Rochester and the Philippines form the New York, Pennsylvania, Pacific West Community. The NyPPaW Community sponsors and/or has a traditional administrative and ministerial role with eight secondary and elementary schools.
