Stewarding the Mercy Charism

Ongoing assessment and accountability reporting are part of the rhythm of demonstrating fidelity to the charism of Mercy. Stewarding the Mercy Charism was developed by the Network for Mercy Education as to tool to assist in this responsibility.

Communities/Sponsorship Councils have adopted the tool in whole or in part to be used by schools. The sequence and timing of use varies by Community.

Moreover, the five pamphlet tool can be used by school leadership, boards and faculty and staff for in-service and ongoing reflection and dialogue on how fidelity is exercised.

Written for use by Mercy secondary and elementary schools and educational centers, the materials have been adapted for use by social service and pastoral ministries.

Both the educational and social services/pastoral versions have been translated into Spanish. The Network thanks the South Central Community for the adaptations and translations and Instituto Maria Regina, Honduras for the edcational version translation.

All versions are available here for download. The Network has printed versions of the English education pamphlets. Contact the Network.

Stewarding
The source of the word provides references to one who manages affairs of an estate on behalf of his employer"; a house guardian.

In our schools, our houses of Mercy, guard well the charism, values and tradition of Mercy, the affairs of the legacy we have been given, our estate.
